United Negro College Fund Overview
UNCF (United Negro College Fund) is the nation's largest private scholarship provider to minority students. During it's 75-year existence, UNCF has raised $4.7 billion to provide operating funds for 37 member historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and administer over 400 scholarships, fellowships, internships, mentoring initiatives, and summer enrichment programs for students at about 900 institutions. Each year UNCF awards scholarships to approximately 60,000 students to attend college and more than 8,000 receive degrees. UNCF also provides curriculum and faculty development programs, many of which take place at member colleges.
