Overview
The Los Angeles area law firm of Panitz & Kossoff, LLP concentrates in federal tax litigation and estate planning.
Nationally, we are known as “federal tax litigators.” Partner Philip G. Panitz is a federal tax litigator who has tried over 250 cases in the United States Tax Court. He also handles appeals of tax cases from the U.S. Tax Court to all the federal circuit courts. His 1995 landmark victory in the United States Supreme Court, Williams v. United States, changed the law in this country regarding IRS seizures and permitted third party taxpayers to sue the IRS for property wrongfully taken to pay the debt of another.
The firm is also recognized for its comprehensive estate planning, probate and trust administration. Partner Ken Kossoff is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Law, as certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. Ken and his team can assist you with all aspects of probate and trust administration, and is experienced in fiduciary liability matters.
We also serve as outside corporate and tax counsel to many California corporations. Our services in this regard include business formation, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, shareholder agreements, buy/sell agreements, and corporate tax planning.
