Lenoir City Utilities Board Overview

Lenoir City Utilities Board, most commonly known to our customers and colleagues as "LCUB"​, is a government, multi-service, utility agency and is governed by the city of Lenoir City (TN) and our board of directors. LCUB is currently listed as the 49th largest public power agency in America by the American Public Power Association, with approximately 80,000 meters between our four divisions delivering electric, gas, water and wastewater services to customers. The LCUB Electric Division serves Lenoir City, Farragut, Knoxville, unincorporated Northern Loudon County, and unincorporated West Knox County. The system encompasses 191 square miles and has approximately 60,600 customers. LCUB does not generate any electric power; it purchases its entire supply from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The LCUB Gas Division serves Lenoir City and the immediate surrounding area with approximately 194 miles of natural gas mains serving approximately 5,600 customers. Natural Gas is purchased from two suppliers, Tennessee Gas Pipeline and Spectra Energy (East Tennessee Natural Gas). The LCUB Water Division serves Lenoir City and the immediate surrounding area, encompassing about 57 square miles and totaling approximately 8,500 customers. The LCUB Wastewater Department serves Lenoir City and the immediate surrounding area, encompassing about 60 square miles and totaling approximately 4,800 customers. LCUB boasts an employee base of approximately 160 employees ranging from administrative, information technology, safety, security and risk management, training, engineering, finance and accounting, customer relations, warehousing, fleet and field operations. Our highly motivated, skilled and educated staff undergo hundreds of hours of technical and safety training each year to assure LCUB is delivering the most reliable power, gas, water and wastewater services possible.
