Overview
Our history and purpose
In 1995 Greenwheels started car sharing service in The Netherlands with the ambition to make cities more liveable by reducing stationary cars on the street and improve the efficiency of car usage. A recent study (vananaare.nl) shows that every new Greenwheels member takes 11 cars off the street and every Greenwheels car is being shared by 24 drivers.
Our locations
A lot of people and businesses have joined our platform, and nowadays they share almost 3.850 cars from both public and business fleets in The Netherlands which makes us market leader of carsharing. We are also present in Germany where we are spread over 24 cities, such as Berlin, Hamburg and Hannover.
Customers
We serve private customers across The Netherlands and Germany. They can use the cars that can be found on the streets and in parking garages. We also provide car sharing services to businesses, where our clients include the Rijksoverheid and many SMB organisations. They have the option to make use of our public fleet of cars on the streets, and their own exclusive cars that can be shared amongst company employees only.
Our partners
We work together with other mobility partners, such as NS, Mobiliteitsfabriek, Next, Radiuz and Shuttel. Their mobility services will include the offering of Greenwheels. With NS we provide door to door services that can include train, OV bikes and Greenwheels cars.
How it works
Our app can be used to register an account, and to book and open a car. Registration and booking can also be done via our website. Opening the car can also be done with an OV-chip card or a Greenwheels card.
