The company manages the region’s electricity distribution network which connects over 31,000 customers as well as operating a fibre optic communications network. As the company is owned by the South Canterbury community, all profits go back into the community by way of dividends and local sponsorship. Alpine’s subsidiary contracting company NETcon provides a wide range of network and electrical services, whilst its other subsidiary Infratec, delivers renewable technology projects in New Zealand and overseas.
